Berkowsky and Associates, Inc. (BAI) was founded in 1990 by President and Principal Architect, Mark A. Berkowsky, AIA, LEED AP. Now in our 30th year, with Siri Berkowsky Heinrichs as Chief Executive Officer, BAI is a proud Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) certified through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Still a family business, we continue our strong client-focused approach, for on which we have built our reputation. Providing a full complement of design, construction, and project management services, we are capable of handling projects ranging in size and scope. Our architects and project managers are responsible for projects as they develop from the initial concept through the design process and physical construction. Employing a multi-disciplinary team of specialists in-house, (including architects, designers, drafters, LEED-accredited professionals, project managers, cost estimators, and superintendents), we work collaboratively throughout the phases of any project.
Berkowsky and Associates, Inc. finds that giving back to our community through volunteerism is important. Setting the example, our President, Mark Berkowsky, AIA, devotes much of his time giving back. Mark's volunteer "hats" include Board of Trustees member of Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society, President of Cranbury Housing Associates, and Treasurer and Board of Trustees member of Eden Autism Services.
Berkowsky and Associates donates our design services when possible, most recently with the design of the new Eden Autism Schalk's Crossing, a day center for aging adults with autism. Mark was recently honored at the 2020 Eden Dreams Gala for his decades of service to the organization.
Following Mark's lead, Berkowsky employees, family and friends all come together as "Team Berkowsky" to participate in Eden's annual 5k race, which is the organizations biggest fundraiser. For this event, our Design and Construction teams go head to head in our internal "5k Milestone Challenge", a fun contest to see who can raise the most money. In 2019 we were thrilled tor raise over $27,000 in donations, helping Eden in its mission to improve the lives of people with autism.
This year the event was held virtually due to the current pandemic. With the need more significant than ever, we honored our company's 30th Anniversary by bringing all departments together for one single mission to raise $30,000 for this great organization. With the generous support of our sponsors, friends and family Team Berkowsky met and exceeded that goal by raising $39,806 in donations!
To mark this achievement, as well as honor the company's 30th Anniversary, the Executive Board presented Eden Autism Services with an additional gift of $30,000 bringing our company's total donations to $69,806! We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and proved that we can do "virtually" anything when we work together.
